VIRTUAL VALIDATION · 4 MIN READ

Use simulation to sharpen the next test.

Model-based comparisons can help examine an idea. Their outputs still need to be understood as simulated judgments.

让虚拟验证帮助提出下一步问题。

01

Give the simulation a specific job.

A useful comparison starts with a bounded question. A Macro exercise compares baseline, stress and alternative conditions. A Micro exercise follows hypothetical personas through discovery, understanding, use, maintenance and continuation. Keep the assumptions and comparison material explicit.

If a concept changes halfway through a comparison, record the change and run a separate comparison. Otherwise, it becomes difficult to tell which difference influenced the result.

02

Read the result as a model judgment.

Simulated responses are generated by models. They are not responses collected from recruited participants, measurements of willingness to pay or observed purchase behavior.

An attractive score cannot establish market demand. Model output may help identify concerns, contradictions or a more focused question to investigate with people and physical products.

03

Choose a real-world follow-up.

Match the follow-up to the uncertainty. A question about use may need observation; a question about physical performance may need a prototype. Write down what result would change the decision.

Preserve the inputs and limitations alongside the output so the next reviewer can understand what was compared. Use the simulation to improve the next test, while keeping the distinction between simulation and observation clear.

ILLUSTRATIVE TEST PLAN · 虚构示例

Which bottle opening should we prototype first?

Comparison
Two explicitly described opening mechanisms.
Simulated question
What usability concerns should the team investigate?
Limit
Generated reactions do not measure real cleaning performance.
Next check
Observe cleaning with physical prototypes under the same conditions.
